D'accord avec tout ça, mais pas avec l'assertion que les longbows seraient nécessairement des arcs lents. S'ils sont bien équilibrés, pas trop surdimensionnés, avec peu de suivi de corde (voire avec un peu de reflex), les LB "envoient" très bien.

Déterrage de sujet, mais est-ce que quelqu'un a fait des tests de résistance de ces cordes en tilleul ? Et si oui ça donne quoi en fonction de l'épaisseur ?...

Oui, avec une corde lourde et des flèches lourdes (on parle de cordes en lin atteignant 4mm de diamètre et de flèches de plus de 100g) proportionnellement la perte de rendement est moindre. Globalement de toute façon les longbows (si tant est que cet arc là soit vraiment long) sont des arcs lents qui sont plus efficaces en tirant des flèches lourdes à plus faible vitesse. Après qu'il y ait une compréhension ou non de ce qu'ils faisaient, les règles de la physique restent les mêmes, du poids mort c'est de l'efficacité en moins. Mais ils peuvent très bien de l'avoir jamais remarqué, ou suivre la tradition...
