The competitions will take place: the 18th of August for bowshooting and the 19th for atlatl competition We’ll be proud to host you at the Centre and show you the beauty of our reconstructed living areas and icecap-landscape. It will be possible to stay overnight from Friday the 17th to Monday the 19th. So bring your tent! There are also some beds available in dorms (huts and tents), but their number is limited. So send your application as soon as you can. Bring your sleeping bag anyway! Free dinner buffet on Saturday the 18th, when the Centre will celebrate its annual feast! Danish archers and atlatlists have been invited too. We hope to see you here in August! The organizer, Matteo Pilati SHORTLY ABOUT LEJRE EXPERIMENTAL CENTRE Lejre Experimental Centre was founded in 1964 and the concept developed here has since inspired hundreds of centres throughout the world. The ca. 40 hectares at Lejre are entirely dedicated to experimental archaeology, education and passing on of knowledge to our guests. That means that the reconstructed environments of the Centre (Iron Age village, Mesolithic occupation, Viking Marketplace and the 19th century Farm cottages) and the workshops all together are scenario for live experiments, didactical work and our visitors’ curiosity about the past. The Centre is located few kilometres outside Roskilde, known for the famous Viking ships, and approx. 30 minutes drive from Copenhagen.
